The Finley and District Camera Club has been awarded two grants it applied for late last year, which were announced in April and May.
One was the Moira Shire Arts and Culture Grant, announced in April and valued at $1180, for a photography workshop to be held on Sunday, June 18 at the Bottom Pub in Cobram from noon to 5pm.
Anyone is welcome, with the workshop costing a $20 registration fee, which includes lunch.
Guest tutors Rhonda Doyle will talk about composition photography and camera settings and Maureen Arthur will cover photo-book creations, where people can learn to create beautiful photo books to display and share their digital images creating something to be proud of to hold and share with family and friends.
Valerie Lee will also be instructing on how to shoot DSLR video and there will be a presentation on what newspaper photo editors look for in photos.
For more information on the workshop, phone Maureen Arthur on 0408521493 or Cobram Photographics on 58722171.
The second grant has just been received and is the Federal Government Volunteers Grant, with $5000 for a defibrillator, first aid courses, food handlers courses, a first aid kit, a marquee, chairs and table.
This is the fourth volunteer grant the Finley and District Camera Club has received — others have included a computer, projector equipment, carry cases and camera equipment.
●The Finley and District Camera Club meets at the Barooga Public School Library on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm.
