Noonans Showcase Jewellers celebrated their 45th year in business on Thursday.

A family owned business, Trevor and Erryl Noonan purchased the business from Dick Gedye of Gedye’s Jewellers in 1972.

‘‘In the 1980s Trevor was one of the moving forces that created a new buying group called ‘Showcase Jewellers’ of which there are now over 300 stores nationwide,’’ Cath Noonan said.

‘‘My husband and Trevor and Erryl’s son, Andrew, began working full-time at the store upon his return from college,’’ she said.

‘‘In 1996 we officially took over the business.’’

Cath said the jewellers have a great reputation built on honesty, integrity and confidentiality.

‘‘This is as you would expect in a local community,’’ she said.

‘‘My passion and first priority is to high quality customer service.’’

With Andrew doing minor jewellery and watch repairs, Cath fronting the store and a staff of four local women, this family based business takes pride in being known as a fun place to shop.

‘‘We take pride in participating in many community events including fundraising and charity events,’’ Cath said.

‘‘We are fun but we always maintain a professional and confidential service for clients.’’
