Numurkah was buzzing at the weekend with racegoers descending on the town for the Australasian Kart Titles.

Numurkah was buzzing at the weekend with racegoers descending on the town for the Australasian Kart Titles.

The Goulburn Valley Kart Club hosted 110 entrants on May 13 and 14, with more than 350 spectators witnessing the frantic action, and club secretary Ben Dealy was delighted with the turnout.

‘‘It was a great day, a fantastic day and to hold such a prestigious event with racers all over the country attending was awesome,’’ Mr Dealy said.

‘‘And to cap it off we had some local racers win as well.’’

GVKC’s Liam Ford (TAG 125 light), Justin Riddell (TAG restricted heavy) and Mr Dealy (TAG restricted masters) all won their respective races and the secretary said it was a great effort for the trio to be doing so well on the national stage.

‘‘It is a testament to the club, we have guys coming here regularly, so to take out three of the 12 races is an incredible effort,’’ Mr Dealy said.

‘‘We also had around 12 additional podium finishes, so it was a great weekend all round.’’

The nationally recognised event is a staple of the GVKC calender and Mr Dealy was looking forward to its return again next year.

‘‘It is one of the biggest events in Australia and it is a massive honour for our club to host it.’’
