Sweet treat: Henry Ryan and Lara Maher purchasing cakes from the stall.

Sweets and slices and all things nice have been on the menu at Trikki Kidz recently, with the children baking up a storm.

The students and educators have been baking many healthy cakes and slices to sell to families, to help fundraise for the centre to support good causes.

Trikki Kidz has a long history helping not only the local community (SIDS and Kids and local dairy farmers); but also the global community through the centre’s sponsorship of Sari who has grown up alongside Trikki Kidz, and raising money to buy toys for the children who were affected by the earthquake in Nepal.

‘‘Helping out others reminds our children that we are often very privileged and through encouragement we can take action to share power equally around the world,’’ Trikki Kidz’s Jayne Allemand said.

‘‘As early childhood educators we understand that creating a sense of community is an important aspect of what we do.

‘‘It is also an integral theme of our Early Years Framework.’’
