Young and old gathered solemnly in the sunshine on Thursday to remember the sacrifice and service of Australian soldiers during conflicts across the years.

The service at Ottrey Lodge also commemorated the 102nd anniversary of the Anzac landing at Gallipoli, and paid tribute to the hundreds of thousands of people who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

People laid wreaths and placed poppies in the bowl in remembrance at the end of the ceremony.

Local schoolchildren led the attendees in a rendition of Can You Hear Australia’s Heroes Marching, as well as the national anthem.

Len Soule also performed the opening prayer and The Lord’s Prayer.
