Roar is back on winner’s list

Cobram Roar took on bottom-placed Wodonga Heart on the weekend and recorded a very comfortable 12-0 win.

A haul of six goals in each half to Cobram led the Roar to one of its biggest ever wins, with Bill Puckett and Tyler Seabrook doing most of the damage in front of goals, scoring four goals each.

The Roar has Easter weekend off before travelling to Albury to take on third-placed Boomers FC in a must-win match to keep up with the ladder leaders.

Reserves

The Roar’s reserve team continued its great start to the season and recorded a comfortable 6-0 win, to make it four wins from four matches, to sit two points clear on the top of the table.

Division three men

The under-18s had a fantastic 8-0 win against Wodonga Heart, securing the position at the top of table going into the Easter break.

A first half hat-trick to Hamish Sweeney put the boys on the front foot early on.

Some great midfield play led to plenty of chances being created throughout the game. Goals were then scored by Nathan Stoate, Lachlan Osbourne, Joseph Ballerini and Jordan Nankinville, sealing a big win for the boys.

Under-16

The under-16 boys were eager to take to the pitch on Sunday.

After a slow start and a goal from the opposition early in the match they settled down and played their usual game.

Four goals were scored in the first half, taking them to a 4-1 lead in the break.

The intensity continued in the second half with another four goals on the board and the Roar’s strong defence keeping the Heart goalless. It was a solid performance from all the boys.
