Barooga locals are being urged to have their say on the future development of their town at a meeting on Tuesday night.
The Barooga Advancement Group is hosting a meeting to provide residents the opportunity to review the current Barooga Town Concept submission being developed by Liesl Malan Landscape Architects for the Berrigan Shire.
It’s a chance for residents, clubs and business representatives to see what’s currently being developed and have a say in what improvements are planned for the town and what they might like to see.
Berrigan Shire Council representatives will also be in attendance to answer questions and respond to further ideas.
The draft concept plan already includes a street tree master plan and options for new town entrance signage, but council is hoping to gather more feedback from the community.
Berrigan Shire councillor John Bruce strongly encouraged people to attend and share their ideas and opinions.
He said council needed to know what residents and user groups thought should be included, how plans could be enhanced or whether things needed to be added in.
‘‘It’s an opportunity for people to have a say on what they’d like to see as part of plans for Barooga’s future,’’ he said.
‘‘We want to make sure the plans reflect what the community wants and would like to see, but we need more information and input from the community.’’
●The meeting will be at the Golf View room at the Barooga Sports Club at 7pm on Tuesday, April 11. Copies of the draft plan can be viewed at the post office and Barooga Library.
