Cards were the order of the day at the Barooga Bowls Club as the Cobram Ladies Hospital Auxiliary held the first of two cards and game days for the year.

The auxiliary each year turns its fundraising efforts to a particular cause that is brought to its attention by Cobram and District Health.

Auxiliary president Mary Powell said they were in the process of buying new curtains that were required at Irvin House.

‘‘We have just finished raising the $10000 needed to buy the curtains which is great news,’’ Mrs Powell said.

‘‘Our attention will now turn to raising the funds for the Cobram Dental Clinic to allow them to upgrade their X-ray system to digital.

‘‘Our cards day is always a big day and we have a turnout of more than 70 people, which is just fantastic.’’
