Great season: The Cobram Tigers under-14 side was too good for Nathalia on Sunday.

The junior cricket season for the MVCA came to a close on the weekend, with the Cobram Tigers making it a clean sweep of premierships.

The first final was played on Friday night with Cobram taking on Nathalia at the Barooga Recreation Reserve in the under-16s.

Batting first, Cobram posted 6/149 from their overs with Lachlan Hyde leading the way with the bat with a fine 41 not out.

Hyde was assisted by Luca Allen who made 33 crucial runs towards their total.

The 149 set by Cobram proved to be too much for Nathalia as they were bowled out for 81.

Izac Artavilla, who missed out with the bat, took figures of 3/5 while Hyde and Allen both claimed two wickets.

Man of the Match honours went to Lachlan Hyde for his all-round effort.

On Sunday, it was the under-14s turn as Cobram and Nathalia played for the flag at the Cobram Showgrounds.

The Tigers batted first and made 4/120 thanks to a fine 42 retired from Jack Beasley.

Much like the under-16s, runs on the board in a final are tough to chase, and Nathalia fell 29 runs short — bowled out for 91.

Matteo Allen took great figures of 3/6 with Harrison McGrath taking two wickets.

Jack Beasley was named Man of the Match for his effort with the bat.
