Promoting the Murray

Lights, camera, action: Yoyo Jo, Richard Byfield, Elise Hibberd and Sam Ludeman get ready to film their beach cricket scene at Thompson’s Beach.

Filming: Camerman Con Filippidis catches all the action on film.

If you were out and about last week, you might have seen a few camera crews around Moira Shire at some of the region’s more popular tourist spots.

That is because filming of this year’s Sun Country on the Murray’s new ‘Raft the Murray’ campaign began.

The actors and film crew were at Thompsons Beach on Wednesday, March 1 for their beach cricket segment before moving on to Cactus Country and the Big Strawberry on Friday.

Sam Ludeman, who featured on TV show The Voice and will feature in the webisodes, said it was great to be in the region.

‘‘The area along the Murray River is a fantastic part of the world, we are so lucky to be filming here,’’ Mr Ludeman, originally from Shepparton, said.

The campaign builds on Sun Country on the Murray’s successful online campaign.

The webisodes will be available online later in the year.
