Sports stars are lined up

Travis Lindhe (yellow jersey) will be looking to defend his title of Sports Star of the Year.

The nominees have been decided for this year’s Barooga Sports Club/Cobram Courier Sports Star of the Year Awards.

Worthy nominees across the three categories have been finalised, with nine juniors, three seniors and two teams of the year.

In the junior category this year will be Steffi Vogel (golf), Emma Nolan (swimming), Esava Ratuoglea (AFL), Laney Chadwick (wake-boarding), Hunter Rich (motocross), Seth Rich (motocross), Cameron Johnston (athletics), Izac Artavilla (cricket) and Riley Gow (cricket).

No matter which way the voting goes, a worthy winner will be chosen, which showcases the high level of achievement in the region.

In the senior division, Travis Lindhe (cycling), Chris Tomlinson (golf) and Kim Forge (curling) have been nominated.

The two teams of the year nominees are the under-15 Murray Valley Cricket Association representative team and the Barooga Sports Bowls Club Friday pennant division one side.

●The awards dinner will take place at Bridges at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club in the Fairway Lounge on Thursday, March 9 at 6.30pm.
