Cobram Rotary Club recognised the help it received from Moira Shire during a small ceremony last week.
At the February Moira Shire Council meeting, which was held at the Cobram Civic Centre, Cobram Rotary Club president Bert Orr and fellow member Trevor Noonan presented shire chief executive officer Mark Henderson and Mayor Gary Cleveland with a certificate of appreciation.
Mr Orr said that the certificate was presented to Moira Shire as a small token of appreciation for the help the club received for its Rotary House project.
‘‘The Moira Shire agreed at the beginning of the construction of the house to waive all council fees related to the building of the house,’’ he said.
‘‘The Moira Shire has been significant sponsors of our project and this was just our way of acknowledging that.’’
The Cobram Rotary House will be sold when finished, with the money raised from the sale being donated to Ottrey Lodge.
Mr Orr said the building and selling of the house was the club’s biggest project since it built Ottrey Lodge.
