Roar will play Middle Park FC in the next round of the FFA Cup.

Cobram Roar has continued its campaign in the Westfield FFA Cup Football Federation Victoria championships, advancing to the next round to play Middle Park FC this weekend.

The draw, announced on Monday afternoon, comes as the Roar enjoyed a break last week after its opponents in the second qualifying round, Plenty Valley Lions FC, forfeited.

The Roar posted a convincing 4-0 win in the first qualifying round of the competition against fellow Goulburn Valley team Tatura Soccer Club at McEwan Reserve in Shepparton on February 10.

The Roar had an immediate impact on the match, with Ray Diramacca scoring the first shot of the game at the five-minute mark.

It didn’t take long for Cobram to score again, with a left foot finish from Tyler Seabrook at the 15-minute mark taking the score to 2-0.

It wasn’t until half an hour later that the Roar scored again, with Adam Gatcum slotting one in from just outside the box to take a strong lead into the half-time break at 3-0.

In the match’s 87th minute, Roar’s Nathan Thomas all but sealed the game’s outcome with a header from the corner, taking the score to 4-0 in favour of Cobram.

Tatura remained scoreless for the rest of the match, with Cobram taking the honours at the final siren.

Details of this weekend’s Round 1 match were yet to be announced when the Courier went to print.
