Crowds enjoyed the Rathdowne Street big band performance at Thompsons Beach.

More than 300 people enjoyed music provided by the 19-piece Rathdowne Street Big Band from Melbourne at Thompson’s Beach on Sunday afternoon.

The concert was a great social event in the beautiful Murray River beach setting, where people relaxed and listened to the music and many took to the portable dance floor.

The event was the second big-band concert hosted by Rotary Club of Cobram to raise funds for Cobram’s aged care facility Ottrey Lodge, for a renovations and rebuilding project.

The popularity of the band’s music, despite a couple of light showers, and the enthusiasm of the musicians indicated the band might return next year.
