It was a mixed day of fortunes for the two Murray Valley cricket representative sides on Sunday as they made their way to Bendigo.
Both the under-17 and under-15 teams travelled to Bendigo to take on the powerful BDCA for the Northern Rivers Shields.
The under-15s pulled off a nail-biting victory, chasing down Bendigo’s 136 with a wicket to spare.
Cobram’s Izac Artavilla top scored for Murray Valley with 35, while Barooga’s Cooper Trembath made 26.
The Player of the Final award was given to Nathalia’s Shannon Young for his bowling effort.
The news wasn’t as good for the under-17s as they were outplayed by their big-town rival.
Bendigo posted 164 in their innings with Tocumwal’s Jesse Barker claiming two wickets but Murray Valley could only manage to make 123.
Barooga’s Riley Gow top-scored for the MVCA with 48 which also earned him the honour of Player of the Final.
The league will be happy with the effort the boys put in, as they came up against a much bigger league.
