The fourth annual Sun Country Motorcycle Show ’n’ Shine, Swap Meet and Lifestyle Fair on Sunday February 5 was a great spectacle on the Yarrawonga Foreshore.
Unfortunately, numbers at the February 5 event were down to 45 competition motorcycles and a crowd of just over 1000 attended due to the inclement weather, with rain from Echuca to Mansfield.
Motorcycle exhibitors were from 17 postcodes, with the car display, swap meet, stall holders and clubs/organisations and the Yarrawonga Yacht Club Competition on Lake Mulwala creating a wonderful atmosphere.
Mitch Vipond from Bundalong, who works at Millers Mowers and Motorcycles in Cobram, built his custom-made Harley Davidson Bagger in the past six months and won the people’s choice best motorcycle exhibit.
It has a 1690cc Iron Motorcycles motor, airbag suspension, push button flame thrower, 2mm colour LED lights, four speakers, one subwoofer, a two-amp Clarion Hertz audio system and bling innovated MC accessories.
Second prize went to Corowa’s Sean Crosswaite and third to Glenrowan’s Brandon Hughes.
Cobram’s Pino Raco won the RACV Cobram Resort $500 voucher for the lucky motorcycle exhibitor major prize. Second went to Tocumwal’s Glenn Flyger and third to Cobram’s Jamie Bell.
The people’s choice best motorcycle exhibit lucky voter prize winner was Yarrawonga’s Victoria Smith, while Corowa’s Arthur Crosswaite was second, Corowa’s Bray Taylor third and Tocumwal’s Rod Stokes fourth.
The event’s major sponsors were Federation Council’s Tourism Grant, Yarrawonga Chronicle, Yarrawonga Health, AJs Motorcycles Pty Ltd, Stuart Simmons Motorcycles, Mowers and Marine and Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism.
Organisers said it was a fantastic event for Moira and Federation shires.
