A Yarrawonga woman is calling on Cobram people to keep their eyes peeled to help reunite her with a beloved pet cat.
Kitty Camille unknowingly hitched a ride on a tow truck from Yarrawonga to Cobram on January 24 and has now been missing for 15 days.
She was sleeping or hiding in owner Bianca Zampin’s old car, which had been put on the truck, and when the truck was unloaded in Cobram, she ran out.
Ms Zampin said family and friends had tirelessly looked for Camille, visiting Cobram most nights to search.
She’s also posted on local social media sites and delivered more than 600 ‘missing’ flyers.
‘‘We’ve had reports from people who have spotted her around the hospital area, McDonald’s and the Ford dealership, so that’s promising,’’ she said.
Ms Zampin said unfortunately, Camille was quite timid and had run away when people had called her, but she was hoping Camille would approach someone soon.
‘‘We have been overwhelmed with the support from the Cobram community and how many people are keeping an eye out for her and even offering to help search for her.’’
Ms Zampin said she’d had Camille for about two years after finding in her in an old shed at work when the kitten was only a few days old.
‘‘I had to bottle feed her every three hours for four weeks until she could eat on her own, it was exhausting, but she made it. So she’s pretty special,’’ she said.
Camille is a medium-haired light brown tabby cat and is a little timid but very friendly and may come if called.
